FAQ

Common questions

Does VideoDrop convert every URL to MP3 or MP4?

No. Local mode only works with media that a page publicly exposes. True conversion or sites with complex delivery may require a separate resolver/transcoding service that you control and have permission to use.

Does it work on shared hosting?

Yes for the PHP + cURL core. The optional resolver runs separately and can be connected through config.php.

Can it bypass DRM, paywalls or private access?

No. VideoDrop intentionally does not bypass DRM, encryption, authentication, subscriptions, paywalls or other access controls.
